The Mechatronic community is growing and it is growing fast. A few years ago people started making robots fight on TV, and it became a big thing. More and more started watching it and some of them started to build their own robots.

 

Sport like boxing is being replaced by robots fighting each other. The TV show Robot Wars is now a popular show, and they have big tournaments where they live stream the events on their web page. Many people also buys tickets to see it the various tournaments and fights live. It is all about smashing the other opponent’s robot, and they fight to win it all.

 

Robots are made every day and new creations are brought to life to make our lives easier and more entertaining. I once saw a video of robots fighting on the show Robot Wars and I have to say it was really exiting. You could feel the tension rise every time they hit each other, and everyone was cheering for their favorite. They also made traps in the arena; they work by activating traps to destroy or give new opportunities for the players to win the game. It looks better, and it is all there to making people buy tickets again, but also to give people the absolute and utter destruction that they want and grave.

 

High schools are also making advanced robots or advanced machines. For example, on Technical High school of Tradium, we got a Technical class where they have to make a machine that can make a change. So that is why I went out to see one with my own eyes. To see what difference a mechatronic machine can make, and I sure saw what it could do.

 

In Technical High school of Tradium you can choose to have mechatronics as an optional subject. If you take the study, you will have to work hard because you work 12 hours a week on making and presenting your product. In addition, if you make an outstanding good product, you actually have a change of getting it published. The machine they showed me where installed with sensors that monitor and activate when there is a can in it.

 

The machines are doing more and more for us, and we keep asking for more, so a little group made a can crusher. So when you have empty soda cans you do not even have to crush them yourself anymore, because they made a machine for that.
