Hearthstone Review
The expansion for the free to play game Hearthstone is right around the corner, so we decided to look, at the game in its current state, which is Patch 1.3.0.6898. After this, we will discuss the changes Blizzard will make to the game, in the new expansion. For those you doesn’t know, Hearthstone is virtual card game, where you can play against players online, challenge your friends or play against bots.
Hearthstone is available on Windows, Mac and iPad, and it’s on its way to android systems. The PC port has the settings it need, which include a wide range of resolutions and full screen on and off. The game has three graphical presets (Low, Medium and High) and runs smooth on most systems, and it looks good on high and maintain a stable frame rate above 60 fps. It has separate audio sliders for Master volume and music. You can see the system requirements here: https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/hearthstone-system-requirements
There is not a big difference between the three presets. Low and medium is almost identical, but you can see a difference at High. High enables shadows and raises the frame rate, which in turn make the game extremely satisficing to play.
Now when all the boing stuff is out of the way, let’s get down to business: Gameplay: When you start the game first time, you have to complete the tutorial. Sadly, you can’t skip the tutorial, but it learns you the mechanics, and it doesn’t last long to complete. There are three play modes in Hearthstone; these are play mode, solo adventures and Arena.
Play mode:
In play mode, you battle other players with the same skillset. You can choose either casual or ranked . The only difference is that in ranked mode you can move op in ranks and get better and better opponents.
Solo adventures:
In this mode you play against bots. Here you can practice your decks against bots, before using them I play mode. You can also unlock adventures for real money, in these adventures you battle against booses, and when you beat them, you receive new cards including legendary cards. Legendary cards is rare and strong.
Arena:
In the Arena, you make a deck from random cards, and use it against other players in the arena. Each time you win, your arena key is upgraded, and when you have lost three games, you will be able to use that key to open a chest. The chest contains card packs and other rewards.
Hearthstone is free to play, this means that you can play the game for free, but it offers in game purchases. You can buy card packs for 100 gold or for real money. You can earn gold by doing quest and winning games. You get 40 gold from completing one quest, and 10 gold from winning three games. You can complete three quest a day. This means that you can earn 120 gold each day, which is enough to buy a card pack each day.
When you buy a card pack, you are guaranteed at least one rare card, and four expert cards. If you are lucky, you can get a more than one rare.
Goblins VS Gnomes will ad over 120 new cards and a new card class called “Mechs”
Hearthstone is a great game, and a fair one. It’s not pay to win, so a person who bought 100 card packs can still loos to a person who didn’t pay a penny. It’s all about the luck of the draw. This game offers a lot of fun for free, but feel free to pay a couple of bucks. I highly recommend it!
9/10! “Download it know if you haven’t!”
