Sport on HTX
When you ask a person down town about HTX and sport, you will always get the same answer: “Nobody does sport up there?”. This rumor has been hanging around the Technical high school for years, but is that really true? Is the Technical High School really only a bunch of geeks and nerds?
A person who walks in and out from HTX definitely looks a little nerdy, but do not judge a book by its cover. A lot of the students on HTX do a lot of sport such as, fitness, swimming, combat sport and football. The average sports person on HTX spends 7,2 hours per week doing sports. Also, 53% of the students in study programme B does sports.
As you may know, there is many assignments and it can be difficult to both sport and school. 8 out of 14 says it is hard to find time to do all the assignments. Something strange that the investigation show is that those who do not have problems finding time for assignments, actually do there hours more of sport than those who is not 0able to find time. This can relate to the fact that sport can help you exercise your brain.
(http://fit.webmd.com/teen/move/article/exercise-boosts-brain). It is a scientific proof that activities boost your brain, and helps you stay concentrated. Sport will also help learn a lot more and will make it easier, which result yields better assignments.
Sofie Møller Sørensen is athletic swimmer and has been doing it since 2008. She says it is not a problem in general to find time for assignments, but if there is a limited time between school and sport, she does the assignments in class. Sofie does about 15 hours of sport every week, and in some weekends, she attends swimming competitions as well.
